Saving Energy With Sub Zero Appliances

It’s an inevitable truth that when the weather gets warmer that the electric bill goes up. Part of this is our use of appliances. We tend to forget that our appliances can be energy vampires. When overused or improperly set, they can consume electricity like there’s no tomorrow. But there are ways that you can balance the cost of electricity by investing in energy efficient appliances that have more manageable customizable settings.

Sub Zero appliances are a perfect example of that. Having been approved by the strict guidelines of the Department of Energy and having the EnergyStar seal of approval, these appliances will use less energy to begin with and they also feature temperature settings so that you can adjust them to a more feasible level.

Refrigerators will use less energy if you don’t set the temperature lower than 36-38 degrees. You can set the special items in drawers with a separate setting to keep them fresher. Compartmentalizing the items will help you save energy because it takes the fridge less effort to keep the items cool.

For ovens, microwaves and stovetops– just try and use them at off-peak hours to prevent brownouts and higher bills. By cooking at off times you will be charged less because you’re not putting the electric company at risk for the over consumption of its customers. And with Sub Zero appliances you can even lessen cooking time while increasing efficiency so that you’re not overusing the appliances to make good meals.

Take advantage of high quality home products to help you save money and energy this spring and summer.
